Individuals are elected to the Board of Directors at the annual membership meeting of The National Organization for Victim Assistance. This year's annual membership meeting will be in Louisville, Kentucky on September 30, 2008.

According to by-laws, approved July 2007, no less than three and up to fifteen can make up the Board of Directors. For continuity in the transition of the new by-laws, the Board has affirmed the availability of three elected positions.

Qualifications include:

  • A NOVA member in good standing for at least one year prior to the upcoming election on September 30, 2008.
  • Committed to support NOVA’s mission and purposes and contribute to these efforts.
  • Committed to a collaborative and cooperative spirit with Board of Director meetings.
  • Committed to attendance at Board meetings, held three times a year, once at annual conference and twice at the NOVA offices in Alexandria, VA, at the candidate's own expense.
